Born Gallery was founded as Frank Born Arts in San Francisco in 1987. Frank Born relocated to New York City in 2010 and was joined by Joyce McKee and Howard Berman. We specialize in the secondary market for post-war and contemporary art, including paintings, drawings, sculptures and photographs. We have an inventory of works available for purchase with viewing by appointment in our office in Lower Manhattan. We review client’s collections and advise those who wish to sell discreetly or when appropriate, guide them in the sale at auction. We pride ourselves on our ability to weigh the factors that determine current market value.

Consigned Work:

We are exclusively a secondary market business and are not simultaneously operating a primary market gallery. For clients who bring us works to sell, we are able to concentrate all of our efforts on placing the works in a timely fashion. Recently we have sold works by Jo Baer, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Joseph Beuys, Norman Bluhm, Harry Callahan, Bruce Conner, William Eggleston, Walker Evans, Eric Fischl, Sam Francis, Jose Guerrero, Keith Haring, Jeff Koons, Yayoi Kusama, Dorothea Lange, Sol Lewitt, Robert Mangold, Brice Marden, Joan Mitchell, Takashi Murakami, Toshinobu Onosato, David Park, Ray Parker, Robert Rauschenberg, Milton Resnick, Ed Ruscha, Wegee, and Gary Winogrand.

We have a particular expertise in the early work of Yayoi Kusama.
